The Astra 4900 features 1200 x 2400 dpi and 48-bit color depth as well as the innovative Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface. The Astra 4900 is compatible with Windows 98SE/ME /2000 and XP. The bundled software contains ArcSoft PhotoImpression, PhotoPrinter and PhotoBase for image editing as well as Abbyy FineReader Sprint for the optical character recognition.
4 push buttons E-Mail, Scan, Copy and Fax on the front of the scanner enables convenient and effective scanning. With a push of a button pictures can be scanned directly to an image editing software, to a printer, to an E-mail or sent as a fax.
Because of the resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi, 48-bit color depth and the high-speed USB 2.0 interface, the Astra 4900 is the ideal scanner for ambitious users. Those who want to scan negatives and slides should select the Astra 4950 with its transparency unit included. Also, there is no transparency unit created for Astra 4900 for users to upgrade it to Astra 4950.
